Corsair Trimarans Arrive In UK
Regular readers of this newsletter will know
we have eagerly been awaiting delivery of two brand new Corsair trimarans
from the factory in Vietnam. The vessels were each shipped in a 40'
container directly from the factory, and shipping took about 3 weeks. They
arrived into Southampton and following customs clearance were then
delivered to us at Emsworth. The models on order were a Corsair 28CR and a
24' Dash 750 click hereL The 28 was ordered for a client, and the Dash we
ordered as a stock boat which is now available for immediate
delivery.
We were once again impressed with the
completeness of the package from Corsair, even down to the included tool
box so you really have all the equipment necessary to get out on the water
included in the price.

The C28 will be launched at the end of March
once commissioning is complete, as will the Dash. For a full spec including

upgraded North Racing sail option, a Banks Screacher on a Karver furler,

OUTREMER 5X Launched in La Grande Motte
This month the brand new Outremer design, the
5X, was launched from the Outremer factory in the south of France. This was
a momentous day for all, and we followed the launch on Twitter during the
day. Here is a link to a selection of photos taken during the first sea
trial . It was a flat calm day, and yet still with
main, jib and gennaker they reached 14 knots over the ground. Unsurprising
some may think, when you consider the design team behind the 5X is VPLP,
the same team who designed the 33rd America's Cup winning trimaran, BMW
Oracle. The 5X is set to strike new standards for that difficult balance
between speed and comfort, with the most modern design and construction
techniques. The interior is along the lines of the very successful O49,
designed by famous architect Christophe Barreau. With modern design, clean
lines and a feeling of light and space this is designed as a comfortable
family boat that also provides Outremer's trademark exhillirating sailing
experience.

Multihull World Spring Show
That time of year is fast approaching, and
with the remarkably warm weather we've had this past week our attention is
becoming more focussed on the upcoming sailing season. The brokerage is
becoming busier, with the climax of the buying season obviously centering
around our Spring Multihull Show, which takes place over the May Day Bank
Holiday weekend 4th-7th May. If you have a cat or tri to sell then why not
think about bringing it round to Thornham to take part in the
Show? Due to work on new pontoons about to start in
the marina booking is likely to be essential this year. Please let us know
early so we can ensure there is a slot available for you. New boats on
display at the show will also include the two Corsairs. See you all
