The Iroquois MKll is a catamaran sailboat designed by J.R. (Rod) Macalpine-Downie and built by Sailcraft Ltd. The hull is made of fibreglass. It has a fractional rig. A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. It has a centreboard keel, a pivoting lifting keel, allowing to sail both coastal and inland waters. It is a light, simple boat which sails well they are capable of serious sailing or cruising, family sailing. These are fast, well performing little catamarans and loads of fun. This boat needs a refit and commission before use as it has been ashore for sometime. A rewarding project for the right person, a good looking boat.

Why we like it: This boat was lightly used sailing in Chichester Harbour, before being stored ashore. All sails, safety equipment, instruments, engines were stored at home in the dry and warm. Ashore since 2004 this boat will certainly be seen as a real barn find. There is a good inventory, including extra sails, 4 man liferaft, mountable mast steps, VHF's etc. The boat is light and responds well to the tiller, is epoxied below the waterline with the rudders converted to drop down instead of pivoting. This really helps in shallow water when the boards are up!

Comments
The Iroquois MKll accommodation is roomy and well laid out, with two double cabins two singles and a double in the salon. Folding chart table. Nice sized cockpit.
Headroom in the hulls 6'5"ft. LED lights in cabins. Carpeted flooring, upholstery and mattresses in good condition.
