1979 Quest 31 - Sold
The Prout range of catamarans are well proven, cruising multihulls, with a seaworthy design, solid build and pleasing performance. The Prout Quest is an ideal coastal cruising yacht, with spacious accommodation, ease of handling and shallow draught and in the right conditions capable of much longer trips. Being a multihull, the boat is capable of passage speeds around 7-9 knots, depending on conditions and sails surprising well upwind. The Quest 31 by Prout Catamarans was one of the most popular and successful early cruising catamarans. Many are sailing around, renovated over the years, thanks to their build quality. The Quest 31 is an ideal family cruising yacht offering good accommodation with fine sea keeping qualities. Ample interior space for live aboards or extended cruising while also easy to sail single-handed.

Why we like it - The Quest has good, airy accommodation, throughout the two hulls, with four cabins and a large saloon area. There is standing headroom in the hulls, where the galley (starboard) and navigation station (port) are located. Three Cabins feature private berths and the fourth cabin, corner of the boat, provides a generous, private heads and shower area. The engine is sited in the cockpit, and powers a steerable leg, giving excellent manoeuvrability. The rig is simple and straightforward, control lines led to the deep cockpit for extra ease and comfort and safety. This is a 1979 Prout 31 Catamaran with 2011 Beta marine 20HP diesel engine. Annual maintenance carried out August 2021 with many items replaced with new. Some work will be required to bring this boat back to make her a smart and capable sailing catamaran.
