Why do we like it? Prout's unrivalled reputation for global family cruising is largely based on this model. The Elite is a strong, seaworthy boat with good protection for the crew thanks to the Prout system of large foresail and mast set aft on the cockpit bulkhead. The Elite is a development with a deck lift providing more volume in the aft cabins and giving more standing, living space. Similarly the aft bunks have an extended area out through the aft hulls giving 'trotter boxes' making the berths wider. Purchased by the previous owners in 2001 and cruised along the East Coast, France, Channel Isles, and circumnavigated mainland Britain. Designed for comfortable cruising and unlike many Prouts her windows do not leak! They have been replaced with stylish tinted glass, that eliminates the need for holes being drilled. The twin engines give you a considerable advantage manoeuvring while feathering propellers help to reduce drag and to aid sailing performance. The current owners purchased the boat in 2019 and have continued with upgrades and maintenance but sadly due to health reasons he has had to make the decision to sell.
