The Searunner 40 is renowned as one of the safest cruising multi-hull designs ever built. With the centerboard down, the yacht sails well on all points. It is very roomy, sturdy for a trimaran, and safe making it a great cruiser and live aboard. Storage spaces are huge and plentiful. The Searunner's safety record is outstanding and its divided accommodation provides a private and flexible base for a couple or a family. Capable of 6-9knt cruising speed but up to 14kts for the adventurous. Built in 2001 in marine ply & west system epoxy this is one of the newest Searunners out there. Bought by the current owner from the 2nd owner in 2013 in BC/Canada.Upgraded and coastal cruised for 2 1/2 years in Canada before sailing all the way down to Panama where it is now for sale due to a change in work situation/location.
The boat is currently on the hard in a marina with the ability to work/survey. In an ideal location for sailing across the pacific or coastal cruieing in central and north America.
Upgrades done over the last couple of years include:
- 2014 Building a hard dodger and soft top combo that can seal of the centre cockpit completely for sailing in cold or wet weather.
- 2015 Stripping mast to bare wood to check condition and sealing it with 3 coats of west system + several layers of AWL Grip paint
- 2015 Fitting new Cape Horn self steering to stern, engaging right to the rudder quadrant
- 2018 New topside and deck paint applied by the boatyard (2 part polyurethane)
-2022 Mast & boom sanded and repainted with 2 compound paint
